Ghost Cottage Goud - Large Tall Lit

The Ghost Cottage Large Tall Lit is the most impressive member of our Ghost Cottage collection; a handcrafted Halloween gourd luminary nearly 18" tall with a fully inlaid cottage design, glowing burnt orange windows and door, and a friendly white ghost perched on top with arms outstretched. It is one of the most detailed and architecturally rich pieces we make, and a natural focal point for any Halloween display.

How it's made

The cottage body is hand-dyed a warm caramel tone, letting the gourd's natural surface show through. Our crafters hand-cut each architectural detail individually using a jigsaw; the windows, door, and door frame. Crafters then dye each piece separately, and reinsert them as finished inlays to create crisp, defined color transitions across the surface. The windows and door are dyed a rich burnt orange, while the door frame is left in its natural gourd color for a warm organic contrast. When the piece is lit from within, warm light glows through the burnt orange windows and door for a beautiful effect.

A white ghost head with outstretched arms is hand-painted and perched on top of the cottage, hand-cut and crafted to give him a friendly, welcoming expression. The design rests on a natural wood biscuit base made from harvested and dried wood, collected from the farm itself. A hole is cut into the back of the gourd that allows an electric light cord to be utilized, allowing for a luminary design to be achieved.
