We grow and sell dried hard shell gourds from our 200-acre family farm in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. We have been growing and crafting with gourds for over 29 years, and we take a lot of pride in the quality of what we grow.
Our dried gourds are clean, fully cured, and ready for crafting or decorating without any additional finishing needed. You can add a polyurethane or polycrylic if you would like a nice sheen, but it is not required. Because these are natural gourds, sizes and shapes will vary, but each one is sorted and measured by diameter so you know what you are getting.
We carry a wide variety of hard shell gourd types including bottle gourds, martin gourds, birdhouse gourds, egg gourds, penguin gourds, apple gourds, warty gourds, banana gourds, cannonball gourds, and pre-cut gourd bowls. Whether you are a first-time crafter or have been working with gourds for years, we try to carry a good selection of sizes and varieties to suit whatever you are working on.
Crafting with hard shell gourds is a lot like crafting with wood. You can paint them with acrylic, latex, or oil paints, or dye them with wood dyes or leather dyes. They can be cut, carved, wood burned, and decorated in just about any way you can imagine.
