The shape of martin gourds resemble teardrops or pears. Our Martin gourds sit upright, but may require some sanding on the bottom to sit perfectly straight.
They are known for their nice hard shell, making them the top choice for crafting. These gourds, measuring approximately 6" in diameter, are great for wood burning, cutting, painting, and other craft projects. They are similar to working with wood and can be painted with acrylic, latex, or oil paints, or dyed with wood or leather dyes.
This 6" Martin variety, dried, hard shell gourds comes with the exterior cleaned and ready for crafting.
- This gourd will come between 6" and 7" in diameter.
- Approximately 7 1/2 - 9" tall.
- Display your gourd where it isn't exposed to excessive moisture and avoid long periods of direct sunlight.
- When storing your gourd, choose a cool, dark, and dry environment.
- To clean your gourds, wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Light your gourd with electric lights (7 watt max) or battery-operated lights only. Never place a lit candle in a gourd because gourds are flammable.
