The Black Jack is one of the more dramatic pieces we make. Its bold black top, glowing burnt orange bottom, and hand-cut star cutout give it a strong look that stands apart from traditional Halloween decor without losing any of the warmth and handcrafted character.
How it's made
The Black Jack is crafted from a hard-shell gourd grown right here on our farm. The lower body is hand-dyed a rich burnt orange, while the top is hand-dyed a deep black, creating a bold two-toned contrast. A star is hand-cut into the black top, allowing warm light to glow through when the piece is lit from within. The natural gourd stem is adorned with natural and orange raffia by hand. The design sits on a flat base and a hole is cut into the back of the gourd that allows an electric light cord to be utilized, allowing for a luminary design to be achieved.

Warning: Gourds are flammable. Do not use candles in them or place near open flames.
Care Information
- Display your gourd where it isn't exposed to excessive moisture and avoid long periods of direct sunlight.
- When storing your gourd, choose a cool, dark, and dry environment.
- To clean your gourds, wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Light your gourd with electric lights (7 watt max) or battery-operated lights only. Never place a lit candle in a gourd because gourds are flammable.
Shipping
Most orders leave our warehouse within 2-5 business days. Orders that are placed on weekends will not ship until at least the next business day. We ship with USPS, UPS, and FedEx and delivery can be expected within 1 to 14 business days from when the order leaves our farm. Tracking information will be emailed to you once your order is shipped.
