AN ENGAGING GROUP OUTING

Looking for a fun and unique place to take your group? Visit Meadowbrooke Gourds for an interesting tour and a fun gourd project!

Please complete the online form at the bottom of this page to schedule a group tour and choose the project your group will complete on the tour. We will contact you to confirm the date and time. All group tours must be scheduled in advance.

Tour Options

Free Tuesday Tour

Free public tours are available on Tuesdays at 2pm. This is ideal for couples, singles, and small families. No reservation is needed for our free tour! Stop into our gift shop at 2pm to experience this 45 minute tour.

Group/Private Tours

A minimum of 15 people is required to book a private group tour. For 15-20 people, the tour is free (with optional paid activities). For 21 or more people, the tour fee is $75 with the exception of field trips for children. If scheduling a tour within a week, please contact us at 717-776-6029.

What to know

We offer private group tours Monday – Thursday 10 AM to 3 PM; Fridays 10 AM to 2 PM (cannot guarantee production running on Friday)
Tours take approximately 45 minutes.
This is a walking tour with no seating available. Our Gourd Plant is wheelchair friendly.
Tour is free for groups of 15-20; and $75.00 for groups of 21-50.
Reservations are required for private group tours – please fill out the online form below to schedule a tour. When scheduling, please indicate the time of day you wish to take your tour. Projects may be scheduled in conjunction with tours. Projects take approximately 1 hour.

Where we begin

Whether you attend a regularly scheduled public tour or a private group tour, you will meet us to begin your journey through our Gourd Plant in our cozy retail store. There you will see a nice display of the types of products we make right here. However, before you even enter our building, be sure to see our fields behind the parking lot where we grow our gourds – that is where our work really starts!

As your tour guide leads you through our Gourd Plant, you will be able to meet our great staff of crafters during each step of the process. Our crafters are very talented and have many years of experience – feel free to ask them questions about what they do!

You may be surprised at how detailed and involved our process is at Meadowbrooke Gourds. We are excited about how much we’ve grown our process since we started and are happy to show you different aspects of our Gourd Plant that makes us so unique. You’ll get a first-hand look at how our gourds are washed, cut, painted, dyed and dried. If you attend a privately scheduled group tour, your group will have the option of a gourd project to complete at the end of your tour. Depending on the season you take your tour, we will have different options for projects to choose from. This is a great way to end your tour with us!

Wagon Ride

Add to your Meadowbrooke Gourds experience by taking an hour-long wagon ride around our beautiful farm in our “Trevor’s Trolley.” The cost of the Trolley Ride is $150.00 which is for 1-45 people. Tour lasts about 1 hour and is available from May-October. The trolley is not handicapped accessible, as there are about 4 steps to go up onto the platform. The trolley rides will be canceled if there are soggy ground conditions or rain is present when the ride is to begin.

Create a Gourd Project with your Group

All projects are “make and take” crafts except the birdhouses. We ask that they stay here to be coated in outdoor poly. This process takes a few days to cure, so the houses will be ready to be picked up about a week later. The entire group makes the same project. Groups that opt to make a gourd project must let us know at least 2 weeks prior to the date.
