The Great Meadowbrooke Raw Gourd Sale

Join us for our first ever raw gourd sale!

After more than 30 years of growing and crafting gourds on our Pennsylvania farm, we are opening our storage buildings for a special one-day sale for the first time ever.

Join us on our 200-acre farm to hand-pick from thousands of hard shell gourds in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and varieties, including many that are not traditionally available through our store or website, all at discounted prices.

Whether you are a seasoned gourd artist, a hobby crafter, or just looking for something unusual, we hope you’ll spend the day with us.

What you'll find at the sale

Our unfinished gourds are sorted by variety and size in wooden bins, filled with thousands of gourds, and will be available for you to hand-pick.

Inventory will include:

Unwashed, dried gourds
Washed unfinished gourds
Pre-cut gourds
Unique and specialty varieties
Mini gourds, bottle gourds, kettle gourds, birdhouse gourds, martins, goosenecks, cannonballs, and more
Craft kits and crafting supplies

Many of these gourds are varieties and sizes that we do not typically use in our own designs, so we will have a much larger selection that usual.

Some gourds will be ready for crafting and decorating immediately, while others will be dried and unwashed.

What to expect

Save on Raw Gourds

Our Raw Gourd Sale will be hosted outdoors (weather permitting) on our beautiful farm. You will be able to hand-pick your gourds from a large selection, or purchase in bulk. Our shipper will be on site to offer shipping quotes for any order, and we will be offering washing for bulk orders of unwashed gourds for later shipping/pickup.

Crafting Demonstrations

Enjoy crafting demonstrations from master craftsmen from our crafting team, as well as special guests that will also be sharing their craft! More details coming soon.

Trolley Ride Tours of Our Farm by our Gourd Farmer & Founder

Enjoy a guided tour around our 200 acre farm in a covered trolley wagon pulled by tractor. Our founder, Ben Bear, will show you our gourd fields, answer questions, and stop at our free pick-your-own sunflower fields (if Mother Nature allows).

Online Sale

The best deals and selection will be available in person, but we will be offering a portion of our giant gourd sale selection online for a short time for those that cannot make it to our farm. More details coming soon.

Traveling for the sale?

We expect many visitors to travel from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and surrounding states for this event. Because quantities and varieties will vary greatly, early arrival is encouraged for the best selection.

Our shipping team will be available during the sale for shipping services so you don't have to worry about filling your vehicle or bringing a trailer. We will provide shipping costs, pack, and ship your order during the sale!

Why are we having our first ever raw gourd sale?

Over the years, we have grown many many varieties of gourds for crafting, testing, and for fun. Those gourds have been stored in our large gourd storage buildings. Some varieties that we grow are used every day to craft our designs. Some have been waiting patiently in storage for the right gourd design idea.

We are starting to run out of room in our storage buildings, and we need to grow more of our most popular gourd varieties, so we decided that we should share our large variety of gourds with you!

FAQs

The gourd sale is on our 200-acre farm at 125 Potato Road, Carlisle, PA 17015.

We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

This event is held rain or shine. We will continue to have the sale but may need to cancel other outdoor activities like our Trolley Rides around the farm. In the event of inclement weather, we will update with our plans on our website and on Facebook.

This sale is not for buying seconds or lesser quality gourds. We may possibly have some bins set aside for seconds-quality, but our goal is to provide you with the same quality that we like to craft with.

We are still working on our entire list of gourds that we will have available during this special sale (we have LOADS to sort though), but we do know that we will have stock on all varieties that we traditionally carry in our store and online, as well as a large selection of other varieties. We will update this page with photos and descriptions as more information becomes available.

A dangerous condition is a condition that creates an imminent and substantial risk of injury or damages to a participant.”

By entering an event or program of Meadowbrooke Gourds, you are entering an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur.

Your entry and presence on the event premises constitutes your consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded and to the release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction of any and all recorded media of your appearance, voice, and name for any purpose whatsoever in perpetuity in connection with Meadowbrooke Gourds and its initiatives, including, by way of example only, use on websites, in social media, news and advertising.

By entering the event premises, you waive and release any claims you may have related to the use of recorded media of you at the event, including, without limitation, any right to inspect or approve the photo, video or audio recording of you, any claims for invasion of privacy, violation of the right of publicity, defamation, and copyright infringement or for any fees for use of such record media.

You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on this consent. If you do not agree to the foregoing, please do not enter the event premises.
