Meet Our New Sales Manager

Meet Emily

We are so excited to introduce you to our new wholesale manager, Emily Bear, who took over for Nathan beginning on January 1st. For those that frequently call in to talk to wholesale, Diane will still be there to answer questions and take orders.

Emily grew up in Shippensburg, PA and graduated from Big Spring High School. She is the middle child in her family, having an older brother and a younger sister. After high school, she attended Bradley Academy in York, PA and graduated in 2007 with a Computer Science Degree. While attending Bradley Academy she did freelance work to start putting what she was learning to use. She started designing and laying out our catalogs in 2006. In 2009, she started a boutique creative agency alongside a former classmate called 717 Studios, located in Carlisle, PA. This business specialized in print, branding and web marketing. Meadowbrooke Gourds was their very first customer!

In 2014, she became the sole owner of this company and changed the name to Pixel & Hammer. For the next 5 years, she and her crew worked with businesses and organizations in agriculture, tourism, food and beverage, and non-profits helping them market and brand their goods or services and setting up their websites. Some of the companies she has worked with are the PA Department of Agriculture (PA Preferred program), Giorgio Mushroom Company, Northland Forest Products and Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture.

In 2019, we had an opportunity open at Meadowbrooke that she felt would be a good fit with her and we happened to agree. Emily brings with her a wealth of experience and information not only in sales but also in marketing. She is quiet and fun-loving, sometimes she may even be a bit goofy, but she is dependable, detailed oriented and is anxious to get started and talk to all of you. Since she has worked closely with Meadowbrooke for the last 10+ years, she is familiar with our products and history. She has extensive knowledge of our website and with her strong marketing background, she is eager to help our customers market our gourds in their stores.

She married her high school sweetheart, Brandon, who also happens to be the Vice-President of Meadowbrooke. To those that have been or have loved ones in the military, it will not surprise you to learn that she and Brandon were actually only together for about 3 years out of the first 6 years of their marriage, as Brandon was in the Army and did two tours overseas. They lived in Texas for about two years stationed at Ft. Hood and then returned home to Newville, PA. In her spare time, she likes to go bowling, walk the Rails to Trails with Brandon and Marley, their 12-year-old boxer and spend time with her nieces and nephews.
