Thanksgiving; a time to reflect

It is almost Thanksgiving and it is at this time of the year I like to sit back and reflect over the last year. It is the time to remember all the things I am thankful for and all the people that have come into my life and some that have left.

Here at Meadowbrooke Gourds, we are just about to start our 20th year of business and I reflect back to when I started with this crazy little company. I actually went on my first wholesale show in October of 1994 to Hartford, Ct. It was the first time that I sold Meadowbrooke Gourds to retailers to sell in their store. I remember the surprise and awe from those customers at what we were able to create from a hard-shelled gourd. I quit my full-time job as an office manager and started doing the bookkeeping and going to shows in January of 1995. As I look back at the last 20 years, I feel incredibly thankful for this experience. I have been given the opportunity to be part of a totally unique company starting with the product we create, to the people I work with, to the beautiful location of our farm, to the creative way Meadowbrooke does business.

I have also been able to meet some very extraordinary and creative customers that frequent our retail store and shows that have become like family and friends to me and the rest of the Meadowbrooke crew. I think I speak for all us at Meadowbrooke Gourds when I say that without our customers, we would not be where we are today. It is because of you that we continually strive to be better and to constantly strive to improve our product. This Thanksgiving and as we begin our Anniversary year, we want to let you know how thankful we are for your continued patronage and for everything you have contributed to us through the years.
