December at Meadowbrooke Gourds

Wow! I can hardly believe this is my last blog of 2019 and in a few weeks we will be bringing in a new year. We are just finishing up our Winter Create Your Own weekends and gearing up for the next week of stocking the store and shipping out last minute orders.

December Happenings

Do you have family visiting for the holidays? We will be offering free public tours on December 26th, 27th and 30th at 2:00 pm each day. You do not need to call ahead or register. This unique and informative tour begins in our retail store where tour guides, Roger and Amber, will gather all those interested and start by giving a little history of how we got started, the farming process and then take you into the three main rooms of our crafting area. While you are here, take advantage of our sale that will be going on from December 26-30. All regular Winter Meadowbrooke Gourds will be 25% off in our retail store only.

2019

As I look back over the past year, 2019 was the year everyone was introduced to the new Littles line of Meadowbrooke Gourds. Those adorable tiny gourds were put together to make bunnies, dogs, scarecrows, jack-o-lanterns, snowman and angels. We also introduced the new Meadowbrooke Village that is made on our farm in our new wood shop. Many of you have already started your own Village by purchasing them or coming to our walk in classes at the farm where you could make your own. Our Gourd Easter Egg Hunt sold out in record time and we were able to donate over 1,500 cans to a local food bank collected at our annual egg hunt. In March, we also had to say goodbye to Shawn, one of our founding members, who passed away unexpectedly from an enlarged heart. We lost not only a co-worker but a great friend and many of you that knew him left us know throughout the year that he was missed and will not be forgotten.

2020

As we move into 2020, Meadowbrooke is celebrating a mile stone. Twenty five years of crafting smiles. In January 1995, Meadowbrooke Gourds came into existence and here we are still growing, improving and having fun. We have added lots of products to our line and lots of crafters to our family. We are excited to see what this year has in store, what new products will be designed and what exciting new events and festivals will be held. We would like to thank all of our customers near and far for your patronage over the years. It is because of you that we can come to work each day and create what we love to do.

So, as we close the books on 2019 and open a new one for 2020, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
